Transformer Oil is highly purified non-inhibited high performance mineral oil of Class 1 category of electrical insulation oils, confirming to IS 335:1993

It is use to insulate and cool transformer coil and to quench  electric  arcs  that  form between  contacts  of  switchgears,  circuit  breakers  and  rheostats  using  mineral insulating oil.
